Katherine L. Thompson (she/her)

Hey! I'm Katherine, a mom, wife, and mental health counselor. I started Flourish & Thrive to connect with people searching to better themselves.

 

I'm passionate about working with people who have lost someone and I specialize in suicide loss. I also love working with people in the prenatal or postpartum period who feel like they could use some support. I can assess for ADHD & Autism and work within the intersection of neurodivergence and parenting. I am neuro-affirming and a safe space for BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ individuals.​

Flourish & Thrive was formed on the foundation that everyone deserves quality mental health care. I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all model of counseling and will tailor our work to your specific needs. I expect my clients to work as hard as I do to reach the goals we set at the beginning of our journey. I strive to be a transparent, authentic, and kind provider.

the real deal about me

  • I will show up to session in a T-shirt and comfy pants/shorts.

  • My time blindness is wild. I consider myself late if I am more than 5 minutes behind and I extend that courtesy to my clients.

  • I move around in my office chair constantly and there's a 75% chance my legs are criss-cross applesauce.

  • My caffeine of choice is a crispy can of Dr. Pepper. Morning clients get to witness this firsthand.

  • I keep a thick blanket in my lap during sessions to provide emotional support.

  • My favorite word begins with the letter F.

  • My biggest hobby is changing my hair. If you work with me longer than a few months, you'll get to see this.
